Philips People Business Partner, North America (Cambridge, MA) in Cambridge, Massachusetts

As our People Business Partner, North America, you will collaborate with senior management to develop and implement the People Strategy aligned with business objectives, focusing on business growth, capability development, leadership, and performance management. In this role, you will utilize diagnostic skills and business acumen, identifies competency related needs and present value propositions to senior management. Also, partners with senior leaders and leadership teams, offering strategic people and workforce related advice to influence decisions and drive business performance, capability development and succession planning, to build and maintain a skilled workforce. In addition, you will drive people and organization solutions across the entire geography.

Your role:

  • In close collaboration with the Head of People North America, you will shape Philips geography wide people and organization priorities like culture, Return to Office, etc., as well as deploy and guide the People Strategy within a fast-changing and complex organizational context to ensure that People Function processes are effectively managed and executed consistently. This involves applying local rules, regulations, and labor relations policies in line with the People Strategy to maintain compliance and fairness in all interactions. Additionally, standardization in the execution of People Function policies and processes is driven across the organization to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Supporting and facilitating the development of people leaders within the organization is a key role, empowering them with the skills and tools needed for effective leadership through guidance and resources. This includes fostering strong professional relationships and effective communication with people leaders and People Business Partners and serving as a trusted advisor. Networking with key contacts outside one’s area of expertise and maintaining strategic partnerships with both internal and external stakeholders is essential, along with coaching a diverse group of talents to develop skills and achieve individual and team goals.

  • Handling complex issues requires conceptual thinking, extensive investigation, analysis, and a deep understanding of the organizational objectives, while implementing policies and selecting methods and techniques under limited supervision. Providing valuable insights into the business context helps enhance the organization design and capability development, ensuring alignment with strategic goals. Leading change programs and managing all people relations contributes to organizational stability and growth, while supporting and leading local industrial relations aspects, organizational capability development, and organizational alignment.

You're the right fit if:

  • You’ve acquired 8+ years of experience with Bachelor's OR Minimum 6+ years of experience with Master's in areas such as People Management, Change Management, HR Processes or equivalent.

  • Your skills include the ability to deeply connect with people, identify problems, and implement solutions that align with organizational goals. You create a collaborative environment that fosters creativity and open dialogue, resulting in successful outcomes, supported by strong stakeholder management, negotiation, and persuasion skills; You are proactive person with great analytical/data and problem-solving abilities.

  • You have a Bachelor's / master's degree in human resources, business administration or equivalent.

  • You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.

  • You’re an excellent strategic thinker, able to shape innovative solutions in the face of ambiguity and possessing exceptional executive verbal and written communication skills. You are a well-organized multi-tasker, skilled in change management, building constructive yet effective relationships, possessing a fully-enterprise mindset, capable of deep understanding and navigating the development of meaningful connections.

How we work together

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.

Philips Transparency Details

The pay range for this position in Cambridge, MA is $169,000 to $270,000.

The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.  

In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives, may be offered. Employees are eligible to participate in our comprehensive Philips Total Rewards benefits program, which includes a generous PTO, 401k (up to 7% match), HSA (with company contribution), stock purchase plan, education reimbursement and much more. At Philips, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each case.
