Philips System Engineer in Eindhoven, Netherlands
Join us as a System Engineer and play a key role in shaping high-quality, compliant medical consumer products. You’ll drive product development from concept to launch, ensuring safety, performance, and innovation in a multi-disciplinary environment. You will be part of Philips Grooming & Beauty group which develops new Philips Lumea IPL devices among other products whilst maintaining our current products and driving innovation towards the future.
Your role:
Managing complexity of products or systems in multi-disciplinary setting
The translation of user and business requirements into product requirements, high level product design, checking and optimizing integration and verification
System decomposition and allocation of derived requirements down to HW/SW element and part level and related traceability
Leading and influencing others and driving design for quality and being closely involved in the IPL program
Making a fundamental contribution to the innovation of products and processes
Trade-offs of product/system design specifications and interfaces, determining feasibility of potential solutions, and leading technical & design reviews
The realization of product releases and life cycle management to ensure quality and compliance
Ensuring full Product Safety Risk Management in a regulation compliant manner
You're the right fit if:
A Master's degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, Physics or (Bio)Mechanical Engineering or a comparable subject
A minimum of 3 years of experience as a system engineer/senior mechanical engineer/senior electrical Engineer role, managing complexity across involving multiple domains
Sound knowledge of and experience with modeling / simulation methods & tools (preferably experience with CREO, Ansys, Matlab, Cameo)
Strong experience with requirements management tools (preferably DOORS)
Experience in establishing criteria or limits for product specifications consistent with the intended use of the product
Design for Six Sigma (DFSS): being trained in at least in Green Belt level and having experience in appling the approach to produce robust designs
Experience in design controls to comply with FDA, ISO 13485, and other regulatory requirements
Experience with root-cause analysis of production problems and consumer complaints
Ensuring full product safety risk management in a regulation compliant manner
Abstract, analytical and creative thinking skills
Good collaboration skills, since you will be working with many disciplines and people from various companies across the world
Fluency in English

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week.
Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities.
Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.
