Philips Embedded Software Development Lead in Hong Kong, Hong Kong
Your role:
•Analyses, designs, tests, codes, secures, debugs, modifies, deploys, integrates and maintains (system) software enhancements, test environment and/or new software to have an impact on the product and solutions direction and customer experience.
•Uses state-of-the-art technologies and practices to drive superior customer value. Interacts with users/ product owners to define/ adjust requirements and/or necessary modifications.
•Keeps abreast of technical developments and practices in own field through literature, courses/trainings, technical contacts, and competitive environment, all to ensure the development of great customer digital solutions.
•Defines, monitors, and meets performance and quality metrics.
•Provides technical solutions that conform to requirements with a strong focus on end-users, high quality (QMS/regulatory standards), performance, safety, and security.
•Leverage data-driven insights and AI-enabled tools to improve code quality and performance.
•Shape and lead the software development practices and technologies, participate in full, and share your knowledge widely to deliver projects on time/quality/cost.
•Build and maintain strategic relationships with external China/East Asia-based ODM suppliers and drive them to deliver successfully.
•Knowledge sharing and recognition across the organization and shaping new firmware and software development best practices within BU and PH.
You're the right fit if:
•Master or PhD. in Software or Electronics engineering
•Solid Experience (>5 years) in working from new product development to life cycle sustaining engineering and quality improvement projects.
•Ability to collaborate with a wide range of professionals in matrix organization & lead through influence, both internally and externally with suppliers/partners.
•Solid experience in Software development (>5 years), from Firmware to Cloud and Mobile App types of use cases for B2C IoT devices such as Connected Baby Video Monitor, Vital Sign Monitors, etc.
•Programming languages & paradigms, methodologies and techniques. Lean / Agile / SAFe.
•Very familiar with product development process waterfall type and V-model as PDLM.
•Fluency in Chinese Mandarin and/or Cantonese written/spoken is a must, next fluency in English written/spoken.
How we work together
We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 4 days per week.
Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities.
Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.
