Philips SAFe Release Train Engineer (Plymouth, MN) in Plymouth, Minnesota

SAFe Release Train Engineer (Plymouth, MN)

As a Release Train Engineer, you will be an integral part of a high-performing, global software organization within the Image Guided Therapy Devices (IGT-D) Software R&D group, based in Plymouth, MN. In this role, you will manage and optimize the flow of value through the IntraSight Agile Release Train (ART) using tools, metrics and best practices. In addition, you will function as an Agile Coach encouraging the adoption and implementation of SAFe agile framework values, principles and practices to ensure successful creation of value on a consistent basis in each Program Increment (PI).

Your role:

  • Ensure that the ART plans and delivers according to plan, working with external stakeholders and shared services as necessary.

  • Collaborate and work closely with ART PO, Team Product Owners (POs) and Team Scrum Masters (SMs) to optimize flow of value using tools, metrics and best practices.

  • Plan and facilitate various ART events like PI Planning, System Demo, Release Planning, Quantitative and Qualitative assessment, Scrum of Scrums etc. Monitor the execution of PI using metrics, manage risks, impediments and dependencies working with Team POs/SMs.

  • Escalate risks and impediments to software leadership for areas that need help.

  • Responsible for driving a continuous improvement process using retrospectives in order to relentlessly improve the execution of the ART.

  • Provide coaching to stakeholders and the entire ART on SAFe framework values, principles and practices to encourage adoption across multiple value streams and teams. Provide status updates to all relevant stakeholders to create transparency on the effectiveness of the execution of the ART.

You're the right fit if:

  • You have 15+ years’ experience working in Software Development with at least 4+ years’ experience working as a RTE in a SAFe agile environment. Experience in a SAFe Agile regulated environment is preferred.

  • You are a certified SAFe RTE (required) and other certifications like CSPO, CSSM and SPC are highly desired.

  • You earned a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.

  • You're experienced using Agile project management tools like Jira, Azure DevOps, etc.

  • You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.

  • You possess excellent communication and people-interaction skills and have experience working with global software development teams.

How we work together:

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.

Philips Transparency Details:

The pay range for this position in (MN) is $124,500 to $199,000

The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.

In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives may be offered. At Philips, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each case.
