Senior Manager, Upstream Marketing
We are seeking a Senior Manager, Upstream Marketing to serve as a strategic liaison between our China team and global headquarters in Plymouth/San Diego. This role will be instrumental in driving upstream marketing strategies for our Coronary franchise and act as our liaison for Peripheral Vascular, and Heart Rhythm Management categories (incl. ICE). The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on product development, market needs, and strategic priorities. Additionally, this role will facilitate financial alignment efforts between China and headquarters.
Your role:
Strategic Coordination & Market Insights
Act as the primary bridge between China and global headquarters, ensuring effective communication and alignment on upstream marketing strategy for Coronary and its implication on downstream requirements; set the goal standard for and occasionally support other categories
Provide insights on the China market landscape, including customer needs, regulatory trends, and competitive intelligence, to influence global product strategy in collaboration with local market sizing resources
Support the definition and prioritization of product roadmaps based on China’s market dynamics and business objectives.
Product & Portfolio Strategy
Partner with R&D, Clinical, and Regulatory teams to advocate for product requirements tailored to China’s healthcare environment.
Assist in evaluating product positioning and value propositions to optimize market entry and commercialization strategies.
Support global and regional teams in developing business cases for new product development and enhancements.
Financial Alignment & Cross-Category Support
Facilitate regular meetings between China and headquarters’ finance teams to ensure alignment on financial planning, forecasting, and budget considerations, incl. select input on financial modelling, pricing strategies, and investment decisions for upstream marketing initiatives in China.
While primarily supporting the Coronary category, provide strategic input and coordination for Peripheral Vascular and Heart Rhythm Management as needed.
Collaborate with the Business Development team on select opportunity assessments, partnerships, and strategic growth initiatives when needed
You're the right fit if:
6+ years of experience in Upstream Marketing, Product Management, Strategy or combination thereof within the Medical Device or Healthcare Industry / Consulting.
Strong understanding of China’s healthcare ecosystem, regulatory environment, and market dynamics.
Experience working with cross-functional and international teams, preferably with global headquarters interaction.
Ability to analyze market data, develop strategic recommendations, and influence stakeholders.
Strong financial acumen and experience coordinating financial discussions across regions.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to align diverse teams across geographies including at executive levels
Fluency in Mandarin and English is required.
